Still most Travelers think of the Maldives, as something so lavish that it is completely out of reach for most Travelers, and maybe you do as well. A fantasy that will never come true, and a place that you will almost certainly never visit in your lifetime.
Was my guess correct? At least, that’s how most peoples thoughts towards the Maldives even now…
It is partially real, and while you won’t find a $5 per night hotel there like you would in Thailand or Bali, it is certainly more affordable than you would expect!
You can treat yourself to a very comfortable bungalow in a luxury resort on a private island for as little as $200 – $250 per night. But be sure to make a reservation ahead of time!
A minimum price for a world-famous water villa would be around $450 US for two guests, including breakfast. And trust me when I say that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend a Holiday at Maldives!!
If this is all too costly for you, don’t worry; there is a solution! Although it is not a water villa, you can stay in a guesthouse on a nearby island. But, hey, what do you think? In the Maldives, the sea is the same blue color everywhere!

room in a normal hotel in, say, the middle of nowhere in the United States or Australia, would set you back about $200 US. Can it be compared to the Maldives in terms of beauty? I seriously doubt it.
Anyway, what I’m trying to suggest is that you can visit the Maldives on a budget!
Both in a luxury resort and on a local island, the sea is the same turquoise blue hue, and the underwater life is just as beautiful!
Plus, if you can’t afford to spend your whole holiday in an overwater bungalow sipping incredible cocktails on a private island, you can still do so for a fraction of the cost of staying at Guesthouse!
